Adam Arafat | Be Someone
Adam Arafat was born and raised in Houston, TX and is an Alumni of the University of Houston. He's known as an entrepreneur, salesman, and author. However, to define is to limit. He expects to have more titles in the future. He moved to Seattle in 2018 to start his professional career, since then he's been getting involved in all kinds of things such as BJJ, salsa dancing, marathon running, and writing.
For over 2 years, he was working on the front-line of the global digital transformation. Consulting senior leadership at banks, credit unions, fin-tech, private equity, venture capital, and insurance firms on how to adapt digitally in 2020. But mostly sales.
Before that, Adam Arafat was in aftermarket automotive sales for 8 years. Yes, it was his families business. He worked hard, sold speakers, and talked Monday - Saturday with the people of Houston, TX, some of them were even his customers. Retail sales is one of the best ways to learn to talk to people, you can't hang up on someone standing in front of you.
It's easy to sit back and feel bad for yourself. I used to do this a lot. When you witness people who have it worse it puts your life into perspective and it can remedy negative thoughts. Not letting negative thought bias get in the way of who you want to be, in a sense what it means to be someone.
Recently I've volunteered as an adult tutor at the Seattle Public Library and a Youth Basketball Coach at the Ballard Community Center. Currently I am remotely serving with the Rainforest Trust by consulting NGO's with conservation missions.
Learn what it means to be someone and how that phrase is much more than some graffiti that hangs over the head of Houston drivers.
